I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SSi Canada in Aug 2024
Interview
Within the first few moments of the initial interview, I was unexpectedly asked to complete a memory test unrelated to the job. As there was no prior indication of such a requirement, I declined. When I suggested alternative ways to demonstrate my skills, the interviewer was not interested and abruptly ended the interview. I felt like the company was not interested in getting to know me and the entire conversation was artificial and clinical with zero human touch. This experience indicates a lack of soft skills and understanding of candidate evaluation within the HR department, relying solely on potentially unreliable psychometric tests.

Question 1

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SSi Canada (Quebec, QC) in Nov 2022
Interview
It was a pretty lengthy interview process, a first phone call, then another phone call, then an interview with HR, and then another with two devs. A very outdated interview process that was mainly just axed on HR asking stupid HR questions, a very boomer-oriented company where it seemed like it was more important to please HR than the actual devs. It was supposed to be just a 4 interview process, yet I finished them all and they told me I would have to do another one and that they would call me the next day, I was very bummed. They never called me back and then 2+ weeks later they just sent me an automated message, that I didn't make the cut. Overall I wouldn't recommend, a boomer mentality, silly HR questions unrelated to your work, and would not disclose salary brackets and/or perks.

Question 1
They will mostly ask you HR-related questions like, how you did do in school, what were your grades, etc... The devs ask you what projects you did in the past and what you were working on right now.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SSi Canada in Oct 2022
Interview
The hiring process for this organization is outstanding, truly a well-oiled machine. All within two weeks, I connected with the recruiter, moved to second round, and received an offer. Within this timeframe, the team was consistently communicative and kept me informed.
