I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sam's Club (San Bernardino, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
I was called in for an interview almost two months after I applied. The interview itself was a postive experience however their organization is terrible. I was supposed to get a second interview so I called to follow up and was given the run around over the course of a few phone calls in trying to get a hold of someone. Went like this: Your interviewer went on vacation for a week so call back (you'd think she'd have given someone the reigns before she left), here speak to this man, no I'll transfer you to this lady, she's in a meeting (the interviewer), call us back, no we'll call you back. By the end of it I wasnt even sure if there was someone actually in charge or if they even actually needed someone for the position.
P.S. The manager is very "conservative" about colored hair and body art. Even dyed blonde is looked down on.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you handle a difficult situation at work where you may have an irate customer.
Received email with time slot for in person interview. Easy interview. Only cared about availability. Very little was discussed during our time together. Available days the main focus of interview. Slightly Frustrating because application already had completed list of availability. No
Sat down with customer service lead and was asked a series of questions. Mostly about experience with customer service and about availability. Process was very smooth and easy. I was offered a job.
It was very quick and mostly a formality. Asked questions such as how to deal with customers and your strengths. They were very nice and asked when to start immediately after.
