It was way too long of a process for the required position. There were three interviews total, including a 2.5hr interview in person. One might think they are applying to be the CEO of a large corporation.
There is a 1hr technical test that while not that difficult, the technical questions are way beyond the scope of work for this position, which is ridiculous. To make matters worse, the questions are so poorly written, it must have been written by someone who is ESL. No disrespect to non-English speakers (although an English speaking country and location), but if you knew this location, you would understand why.
Lastly, the manager one would have to report to is very immature, cold, arrogant, clearly easily intimidated and very unknowledgeable.
I sugar-coated declining the offer, but the manager gave one of those vibes that he would make you feel uncomfortable every day, as though you were much beneath him, to make sure you stay beneath as long as you worked there.
It is to no surprise within 2 months of first noticing this opening I have seen 4 other openings FOR THE EXACT SAME POSITION (department really is not that big). It is kind of alarming the amount of turnover for the exact same position.
