I applied for the Marketing Specialist position at Sardar Group in Iraq. I carefully reviewed the job description, but during the HR call, I was informed of two additional conditions for any candidate: proficiency in English and a requirement to be clean-shaven. I pointed out that the latter condition was not listed in the job description when I applied, and that the role I applied for is not directly related to customer care, sales, or PR. The HR representative mentioned that they have adopted certain workplace rules similar to those in Japan. I thanked her for her time and the call, but decided not to continue with the process.
