I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Seccom Global (Sydney) in Jun 2020
Interview
There were two rounds of interviews. Both video chats as it happened during the covid time.
The first one about HR and behavioural. They all seemed nice people, not too formal, very friendly and casual environment. Asked a lot of questions about how would I deal with different work-related scenarios. Basic things like my reaction to being overloaded and etc.
The second round was technical. Didn't go very well. The weird thing was one of the members of the high-level management was in the meeting and asking me nonsense technical questions about firewall concepts. Things that I'm sure no one ever has to deal with in daily working projects. He was an old man asking some very specific questions, looking for some specific words in my answers. No matter how much I explained, he wasn't happy with my answers, I guess only because I didn't use the word that he had in mind. I have a feeling that he just learnt them recently and was very excited about them and tried to see if I know about them.
There was also a technical salesperson, he asked some reasonable high-level design questions and I believe I answered them all correctly.
In general, I wasn't happy with the questions and the logic behind them. They were looking for someone who could memorize the details of a very specific technology.
