There is an initial interview process where you have to speak in English, answer questions about your experience and previous jobs, and do a quick role play with the interviewer. This is to evaluate your basic English skills. After that, you start training to prepare for the actual test you must pass in order to begin working there. The training is unpaid and lasts one hour a day for a week. It covers basic interpretation, with a focus on medical interpretation. You do several role plays to get used to the dynamic, and once you pass this process, you take a computer-based exam. If you pass, you can start working. Afterward, you’ll review some medical information to become familiar with day-to-day medical terms.
