The recruiter found me on linked in and she is hiring for the technology strategy team in Atlanta office. We met for coffee chat and it is the first round interview. She is super nice during the entire recruiting process. Because I didn’t apply through their website so it is hard to determine which role I was interviewing for - Consultant or Solution Architect. Second round was on-site interviews for 2hrs. I was meeting with one solution principle and one solution architect. Questions were around resume, why change job, why slalom, and some technical questions ( what are the trends and patterns in this Integration industry? What is active/active system and disaster recovery? what software platforms do you use? Any coding experience?) The third round was 1.5hrs presentation deliverable interview. I was meeting with one solution principle and one consultant. I think I did pretty well for this round while talking about a project I recently worked on as a PM. However, they rejected me after this interview which was completely unexpected. The recruiter called me and provided feedback. It seems there is not a match with their team because they are looking for someone with specific technical skills sets.....my technical experience doesn’t fit their current project needs. They consider my background as technical PM as well but they don’t have opening at this moment. Other feedback is very weird....my presentation sounds too well prepared and rehearsed too much...What’s wrong with well prepared??? I am the PM for this project since beginning of the year so I am very familiar with the details related to this presentation. Anyways, here are some tips for folks applying for this technology strategy team : 1. It’s a very technical role so it’s better you have a very broad technical skills sets 2. PM is preferred but not very important for this role 3. Very interesting business model - consultants are working Mon to Thur/Fri on client side and there is happy hour in the office on Friday . People seem very nice here, good culture but I don’t see much diversity in the technology strategy team so far.
