Received call from recruiter. This was very professional but relaxed and made me feel like the company was a good fit.
Set up a skype interview with four rounds of people (six people total). The first round of two people went well. This included one junior and one mid level manager that worked in the same overall group. Questions were general and nothing too difficult. The second round included both the VP and the hiring manager. The interviewing questions for this round were not appropriate. I was not asked about my technical skill set at all. Instead, the questions focused solely on personality traits, specifically negative ones. Needless to say I was not put into a position to show my strengths nor did I walk away with a great impression of the company or this position. I then proceeded to ask questions of my own and was given brief responses, was put on hold for a moment, and was told the next interviewers were pulled into a meeting and we would reschedule.
I withdrew from the process after this interview based on my interactions with the manager. It appeared they were interested in finding someone that could work with the manager and not someone who was technically skilled and passionate about renewables. This was unfortunate given my level of interest and certainty that I'd succeed there. During a second round interview, it is important that the company sells the candidate on working there and finds people who are technically sound for the job. Any personality issues should be addressed in person during the final round.
