      Customer Service Representative Interview

      30 Apr 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (San Diego, CA) in Apr 2018

      Interview

I submitted for Customer Service Agent for San Diego in April and 4 weeks later had a phone interview. The phone interview went fantastic, and I got along really well with the recruiter. Though I started second guessing myself, I received a call the next day for a face to face and a date was set for one week later! I was shocked it was moving so fast, but happy. So I arrived an hour early because everyone I've ever heard about said it was important to get there early. However when I was waiting by the door, two ladies came out and curtly said that I was too early and kind of laughed as they were walking away. So I decided to go have some coffee and come back 15 minutes before my appointment. The same two ladies said they would be with me in a few minutes. The thing is I was expecting the interviewers to be a little more enthusiastic, because all I've heard about Southwest interviewing process is that it is a stress free environment and they even hire people that are a bit humorous. Not in this case. One, so I get it that we're in San Diego right next to the border, but two, there was not one blond fair skinned person working behind the counter during the time I was there. So right away I got nervous, especially since the same two ladies that were curt with me were both part Latina looking, which I have zero problem with, but kind of wished I was a little Latina so I would fit in. During the interview only one of the ladies talked, she was super nice but something didn't feel right. The other lady never said one word to me, even when the nice lady asked her if she wanted to :( The lady that didn't talk, was sitting like she had her arms crossed and had no interest in hiring me what so ever. I could have said before I entered the interview that these ladies would not hire me :( I wish I could say this was a good experience, but they really didn't give me a chance from the get go :(
