      General Manager Interview

      12 Aug 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Denver, CO
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stonebridge (Denver, CO) in May 2015

      Interview

Pre screening phone interview. After meet with RVP and then the SVP depending on who the actual owner of the hotel is determintes the next line of interview being the COO.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Basic interview questions from RVP and SVP nothing special or difficult. Behavioral Interview questions are what the pre screening questions. Corporate recruter or corporate hr person will use these during the precall. Before they will even hire you must pass their PI testing and be a perfect match to the position being hired for no matter what your interview skills might be pass the PI and your hired. Strangest thing is they hold this to very high regards even over the human element of interview.

Great interview process. For general managers, they fly you out to the Corporate Support Center to allow you to meet everyone and see the culture before accepting the position.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stonebridge

      Interview

Although the interview process was a bit lengthy, (4 weeks from start to offer,) I found myself appreciating the fact that I was able to speak with everyone involved with the position at the corporate office and had the chance to meet in-person the people I would be interacting with on a regular basis. I was even more appreciative that they flew me into Denver, put me up at a nice hotel and the Senior Vice President, Randy even met me at my hotel for breakfast- nice touch! All of my interviews were very thorough, open and honest- I felt like I got a good idea of what i was walking into at my new hotel. Now that I have been in this role for a few months I can honestly say that it has been everything I expected and more! There were no surprises, just that the staff here at the hotel is AWESOME and I am lucky to have them. The long interview process was worth it, I'm so glad I stuck it out and turned down other offers for this one.
