I interviewed at StriveTogether at the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025. The process involved an initial phone screen with a timed excel assessment at the end (15 minutes from receival to submit it back via email), next came an extremely time consuming practical assignment that was "paid" (a $30 gift card for hours worth of work), then an interview with the hiring manager, and finally a panel interview with other team members. There were issues at every turn - the HR rep was almost 10 minutes late calling me for the phone screen and then weeks passed before I was asked to complete the practical assignment. When I had my interview with the hiring manager, the "zoom link" that was in the calendar invite actually was just a link to Zoom's download page and I had to flag the issue and wait 10 minutes to be sent an active meeting link. Then for the panel interview there was no zoom link ever created in the calendar invite, which I again had to flag and wait several minutes to receive when the interview should have been starting. I was also told the panel interview would be 1 hour but when it started, I was informed it would actually be limited to 45 minutes to be "equitable with time that was given to other candidates". It sounded to me like they already had their candidate selected before they met with me, which is fine, but they should have just canceled my interview. The panel was very clearly watching the clock throughout my interview and cut me off at the exact 45 minute mark despite us not making it to my opportunity to ask questions. The level of disorganization and lack of consideration throughout the process would have made me really reconsider accepting an offer had one been made.
