I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sun Life (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Sun Life is a "matrix" organization. This means you will have many horizontal relationships across departments, and many vertical relationships across job bands. As a result, the interview process can be VERY inconsistent based on your role and the department you're in. You'll always be vetted by HR. The hiring manager will then interview you too, as will the hiring manager's boss. Then, you enter the matrix: partners, subordinates, and superiors may interview you too - they may be in your department or in another department. Get ready for the long haul: you may be back multiple times - and decisions tend to move at a glacial pace.
First there was a Phone screening, then an email to schedule an in person interview, then a follow up call to offer the position. After the position is offered, there is a background check.
It was a normal job interview. The person conducting the interview was professional and courteous. I was nervous as I didn’t have the experience they wanted but was able to talk to them and be honest.
Not selected for second interview. Have submitted application a couple of times but have not moved on the the second phase. Would like to at least talk to someone on the phone.
