I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sun Life (Scarborough, ON) in Jan 2014
Interview
The manager who interviewed me was very professional and the overall process was seamless. They asked standard questions and behavioural questions as well. The 2nd part of the interview was a personality test. It was their way of ensuring that they select the right candidate given the amount of time and money they invest towards training & support. After being contacted back that I have been selected, I filled out the official application form to run a background check for credit and criminal records. When I was cleared, the final step was to register for the LLQP course and pass the provincial exam in order to get licenced.
Interview fairly easy. Easy to get in. The training is top notch and intense.
However you need to run like a business not a corporate job.
In terms of interview, as long as you have an ambition and know the sales game. You're in.
Process is fast and straight forward, but the hiring managers usually missed mentioning the part of how the pre-contract system works and you might not be eligible for the role if you don't sell a certain amount worth of product during the period.
