      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      9 Feb 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Seattle, WA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tango (Seattle, WA)

      Interview

It was a very long and drawn out process to interview, 5 rounds. After that they offered me a position and then the next day they said that they already filled the positions. I was then told to do another interview with the lead for another team. So I did, this guy then completely ignored the fact that I already went through 5 rounds of interviews and started trying to question everything on my resume as if he didn’t trust the other lead and team that I interviewed with. It felt like he was trying to trip me up. He was very condescending and rude. I decided to call the recruiter and tell them I don’t want to work with the company.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Tango in Jan 2021

      Interview

I submit my resume to Tango Card in Dec 2020 after reading great reviews of this company on glassdoor.com. I was reached out by the recruiter Jason for some initial chat which went really well, and I was set up to have a conversation with one of the engineering manager. The one hour interview with the engineering manager also went very well and I had great feeling about the company. The recruiter provided feedback that it went really great and they want to move forward to a virtual onsite. A few weeks later I had the virtual onsite with 5 rounds total and a mixed of mangers and engineers. My overall experience is great and I can tell people had passion in this company and enjoyed working here so I was seriously considering joining. A few days after the onsite, the recruiter reached out and told me the onsite went great and they want to extend an offer. And he is working with the CFO to get the details. At this point everything went really well and then the weird thing happened. A few days later the recruiter reached out and said they are still working on offer details and will be in touch with me soon. This similar delaying message happened a few times after between emails and text messages. A few days after promised offer detail date, I texted the recruiter again and this time I didn't receive any response from either text or email. This is the beginning of Feb. and I haven't received any updates from them since then. I had great feelings about this company throughout the process but was very disappointed on they just ghosting me after verbal offer. The recruiter Jason was also great to work with until he disappeared...
