Candidly, it was an odd experience. I was contacted out of the blue by a recruiter. Who was a little sketchy on details, but after doing some cursory research just to make sure this wasn't some bizarre phishing scam – I figured Why Not and agreed to an interview with the recruiters boss's boss. That interview itself was perfectly fine, but it did become evident very quickly that we were discussing a completely different opportunity than the job description that was shared with me which I can only imagine was an error as it was for a completely different client. Regardless, the interview itself was perfectly normal and I felt at least okay about how it went. But naturally – GHOSTED. No follow up and no responses. Which, I mean, they're far from the only employer that does that sort of thing. But I'll personally never reconcile myself with the idea that its an accepted thing that people who interview for a job but don't get it are not even worth communicating with to just let them know that they weren't selected to move forward. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WERE THE ONES THAT REACHED OUT TO ME INITIALLY.
