I applied through an employee referral. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Austin, TX) in May 2021
Interview
Phone screen with HR, technical screen with a hiring manager, then a 90 minute written test, and then a presentation/panel interview. First two stages were quite simple, the test was relatively straightforward, and the panel interview was surprisingly casual. The panel members were very nice - they were looking for holes in my armor, but not being confrontational about it. Had a great time talking individually to each one. Two weeks after the panel interview I received a cookie cutter rejection email. Aside from the lame ending it was overall a pretty good interview process, and educational too.
Multi step process
1) Recruiter / HR
2) Online Test
3)Hiring Mgr
4) Hiring Mgr + other team members
5) can be additional similar to 4 with higher manager - depends
The interview process was straightforward, mainly focusing on my background, previous projects, and my familiarity with working in a PLC-based environment. It was a comfortable and conversational discussion. And also some python related questions

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Austin, TX) in May 2023
Interview
The interview asked details about projectes that I worked on and asked questions about some fundamental knowledge about electrochemistry. It was straight forward and it seemed I didn't meet the requirement.
