I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Hartford in Feb 2010
Interview
I applied on line. After the phone screen, they had me come in for a few hours to take three computer-based tests. The topics were English, Math, and Decision Making (i.e. how do you handle certain office and ethics situations?) All questions were multiple choice.
Following the tests, there was a panel interview with 2 claim managers. The interview questions were typical behavioral questions. There was also a question about dealing with difficult customers and one about demonstrating extra effort to meet a goal.
The offer came the next day, and I eventually accepted.

Question 1
Give an exmaple of a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer and how did you handle the situation?
First an online assessment. Next a recruiter calls and then in person. If you applied to short term disability they will sell you the job. It’s unforgiving work and there’s always more.
I had two interviews. The questions were pretty standard. It was a fast turnaround. Offer came the same day as my second interview. Horrible work environment so beware of a quick turnaround.

Question 1
They asked me about my previous claims experience. What some of my strengths and weaknesses were and how I prioritize my day.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Hartford (Naperville, IL) in May 2024
Interview
The interview process was very simple. It was a teams video chat with 2 department managers. Both asked general questions about my career and experiences. They asked behavioral based questions as well.
