      Product Manager Interview

      1 Sept 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

The most hilariously unprofessional recruitment process I've ever encountered. The actual interview process went fine until the offer stage. I was given an offer, which I accepted after asking a few more questions regarding the details of the role. However the HR rep started ghosting me right after I accepted the offer. It's been a WEEK now and I have not heard back. I have accepted an offer from another company after a couple of days because I'm not allowing myself to be screwed over by this company and end up with no offer. I'm genuinely curious what this HR is doing. 1. If they changed their mind about the offer, why was no communication sent out? It's already extremely unprofessional that TR is possibly sending out multiple offers to TWO applicants at the same time and see which one will accept so they have a backup. The employer is hasty in having the applicant accept the offer within 48 hours, but they don't even have the courtesy of letting the applicant know that the offer was rescinded for no reason? 2. If the HR rep was suddenly sick, why was there zero communication from other HR reps? 3. If the HR rep missed my offer acceptance email, isn't it her responsibility to double check her inbox considering an offer acceptance is quite an important part of her job? The interview process was relatively pleasant, but pro tip TR, if your recruiters are this unprofessional you're only damaging your company's reputation. Do you think people your HR reps ghosts after extending an offer will think nicely of your company?
