      Associate Software Engineer Interview

      12 Sept 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at TicketManager

      Interview

Had the interview with the CTO very condescending. He said he wouldn't hire me in the first 10 minutes but then talked for another 1 and a half. Total waste of time. The office doesn't feel like a good environment to work at.

5 round process, first three are easy and casual, mainly talk about company and role, and a few side projects. Then two onsite interviews with the CEO, COO, Tech team.

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at TicketManager (Calabasas, CA) in Sept 2024

      Interview

TLDR: Avoid interviewing here, they will waste weeks of your time As many other recent reviews have stated, this place has a horribly unnecessary interview process. There are 5 “rounds” and each round will be separated by a least a week. Round 1 is a phone screening with talent acquisition. They will tell you their expectations but in my experience none of what was stated aligned with the job or what they actually wanted in a candidate. If you dont have a CS degree dont bother. They will tell you that doesnt matter then waste your time putting you through all the rounds and use that as a reason to reject you. Round 2 is a phone screen with the technical lead, as other reviews have stated it is a casual conversation where you can talk shop about code. Round 3 is an in person interview with the CTO. Best come prepared to white board or talk shop as the CTO can be very forward and occasionally rude. Round 4 is a video screening with the COO. Again another conversation about your background. Round 5 is an in person screening with the CEO. I was asked to come in for the 5th round and after I replied to suggest a time for that interview I did not receive a response for a week. After a few attempts to follow up, on multiple platforms, the response I finally did receive was a rejection. This capped off a 5 week process that in my opinion could have and should have been no more than a day or two. For context I asked each interviewer at the end of each round if they thought things went well and if I would be a good fit and each time they had nothing but good things to say. Case in point you can’t trust what anyone has to say here. If you are going to go through this process don’t get your hopes up, at no point are you safe. (Read other review where someone was ghosted after round 5). A 70k base offer for full time in person work in Calabasas (with adobe ColdFusion no less) suggests to me they are not seriously hiring and are most likely just testing the waters to see what kind salaries they can get away with offering in this market. Do yourself a favor save your time and avoid.

We appreciate your feedback and your taking the time to interview with TicketManager. We understand your frustrations about not being selected in the final rounds of the interview process. We are unapologetically selective about who we add to our team. That selectivity has led to near zero turnover and 8+ years of workplace satisfaction awards alongside decades long tenures for many on our team. As for if we're hiring, we have hired (4) engineers in the last 45 days and we look forward to adding more to the team soon. Best of luck in the remainder of your job search.
