I had a very pleasant experience during the technical interviews with the software engineer and technical manager. They are very friendly and I’m sure that it would be very nice to work with them as a team.
However, when it comes to the last stage with the HR, everything becomes not pleasant or acceptable to the taste of mind. As a HR, she does not know about stock components, she even told me that all my RSU including my performance bonus in form of stocks will not be taken into consideration of my total compensation because they are not subjected to CPF which doesn't make sense, RSU is taxable once vested. It is common for a candidate to discuss their final salary expectation based on the range stated in the JD. Later, I found out she didn't even know the range in the JD after I enquired her a few times until I gave up and sent her the link to JD. After that this HR still tries her very best to find many reasons just to lowball and convince me to accept that I am worth below the minimum range, despite sharing my interview rating was high from the previous stages, giving long-winded reasons to convince me which makes me feel very uncomfortable. I rejected the potential offer on the spot and left the interview even though I am very interested in this role.
Overall, I had a very negative experience during the HR stage. I feel that she is incompetent and dishonest about the range in which the JD was presented to her. She looked like she was unfamiliar with her duty as a HR and kept contradicting herself most of the time during the interview, finding ways to lowball me. This reflects badly on the organization making candidates think that they are not appreciated by the organization and candidates' time is not valued. However, I appreciate the opportunity the organization has given me.
