I went up to the desk and asked a Captain if they were hiring. He said yes, and to fill out the application and to be prepared to be asked some questions when I turned my application in. The same day, I returned to the store and handed him my application. He asked me a few questions such as, "What product do you like best?" and "Why do you want to work here?". He then said they would be in touch with me about coming in for an interview.
After about four days of not hearing anything, I went back to the store and talked to the same Captain. He told me he would introduce me to the Head Captain, but then came back and asked if I would like to come in for an interview in a week and a half. Of course I said yes.
When I arrived back at the store for the interview, I was greeted by two Captains (one of which I had spoken with all along). They took me outside and asked me a variety of questions. Most of the questions were the ones listed on this website- so study up! The interview was pretty laid back. Afterwards, they said they would get back to me in a timely manner.
All in all, the experience was not so pleasant. From the day I first handed in my application to the day of my interview, the time span had been about a month. Also, a week after my interview I called into the store and asked to speak to a Captain. The Captain told me they were still reviewing applications and told me I would hear back very shortly.
To this day, I have not heard back from this Trader Joe's store. I am very disappointed as I thought this experience would have been more enjoyable. From other posts, I knew there would be a number of interviews, but I never thought it would take over a month and a half of persistent phone calls, stop-ins, and meetings to at least get an answer.
