      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2021

      Interview

      * I wish if I read the Interview Feedback before going through one * I was approached by Twilio for a Principal Role in their engineering team, I was so happy about it, money they were proposing was better than the likes of FAANG, very senior and prestigious role. Following a recruiter call, I went through two initial phone interviews with prospective peers, feedback was awesome. Next was 4 calls with different people including bar-raiser to verify that I align with the magic values Last was a system design study with a panel, during which the hiring manager said "in a few days you will have a final answer", which I found odd given they claimed to still be going though candidates A week later, the dreaded call with the recruiter saying "it was very close and came down to the panel interview, sorry but another candidate got the job". Didn't think much of it initially but a month later, I checked LinkedIn and found the candidate of choice that got the job... Coincidentally he was a colleague of two people in the panel (including the hiring manager) in two previous companies. That was cruel... Two weeks of preparation studying the company and its values, preparing for the system design case study and at the end a sham process to justify hiring someone else they want? Shame on you Twilio, shame on you!

      Question 1

All kinds and they make you sign NDA so you keep your mouth shut afterwards

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (Bengaluru) in Jul 2022

      Interview

Total interview process is a mess. They schedule interview with panel members who don't have enough knowledge or experience to assess candidate in the right way. 1. Round1 is a coding round. Very basic DS Algo questions on strings. Some 4-5 lines of code presented and asked above share review feedback. (Rejected for no valid reason and no feedback shared). 2. Round1 again done to screen. Architecture and design questions. Although it appears everything went really good, the result is not expected. (Rejected for no valid reason and no feedback shared. Automated mail received - At this point no feedback would be provided :)

      Question 1

      1. Basic string based ds algos using recursion etc., 2. Architecture/Design/Choice of databases.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2022

      Interview

The process was smooth, and feedback was also reasonably soon. In the interest of time, I think a decent working solution should be considered acceptable. The systems design is also subjective

      Question 1

There were programming problems and a Systems Design question

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2021

      Interview

      1) Initial recruiter intro call 2) Hiring manager interview 3) Coding / Pairing Initial Technical Interview 4) Final interview panel including Coding/Pairing interview, Behavioral interview, and System Design interview 5) Offer Pre-interview prep material was excellent and accurate. Recruiters were helpful and prompt. Interviewers were friendly and positive.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Technical assessments were focused on practical pair-programming exercises and system design. I found this to be a refreshing departure from the typical LeetCode-style algorithm exercises.
