I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (Phoenix, AZ) in Dec 2019
Interview
After you pass the phone interview, you are scheduled to interview with 2 managers. The manager interview I had was very unimpressive of the organization. After meeting with them it made me not want to continue my job search with their organization. The one manager just appeared to be going through the motions, seemed annoyed that she had to be interviewing me or just being there. She robotically, with no inflection recited her scripted interview process to me, asked me two basic situation questions, asked me why I wanted to work for USAA, what I knew about them. She spent more time talking about the company, the career path, the steps to get there, then even asking me any questions. It was the weirdest interview I have ever had. I'm not sure if she is tired of her job, but it was a very strange and uncomfortable interview with her. The other manager was much more personably, but after speaking for 5 minutes about herself, she really had no input or participation in the interview. She just took notes. The position is not really customer service, it's being able to up sell to their existing members more insurance or banking related products. They offer horrible schedules for the first 1-3 years. It's a split schedule for this position for a minimum of 1 year. You are required to work on Saturday's and will have another day off during the week. Not impressed.
Easy and super fast, it took me 2 weeks total from applying until getting an offer. Phone screen interview, and then in person with hiring manager. In person took about 30 minutes
After filling out the initial application I was invited to take an online skills assessment which included timed portions and was fairly lengthy. There was also a brief phone screening, and then an in person interview with the manager.
Very specific questions. Be really prepared to come up with a story on the spot. Nothing to do with the job description. They want you to sound like a robot.
