The United Airlines interview process was an experience. First you complete an AI video interview answering questions to a screen with no person on the other side. Then if you pass that stage you move on to the one on one interview.
I met with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in SeaTac. The conversation seemed positive. There was constant head nodding, smiling, warm energy, and what felt like genuine interest. I walked away thinking I had finally found the right fit. I have been a manager in aviation for over a decade so I assumed my background would speak for itself.
There was no rejection email or phone call. No courtesy follow up. I had to log into my application portal and see the words “not selected” sitting there like an afterthought.
After over ten years of aviation leadership, United apparently decided I was not up to the task.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at United Airlines in Oct 2023
Interview
Applied. About a week and a half later I got an invitation to complete a virtual interview. There was about eight questions and you get unlimited chances to record yourself. You submit the 2 minute responses that you are most satisfied with. About a week after that, I got an interview to Meet face-to-face with two managers and an HR representative. A series of more questions were asked.
