I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VCA Structural (Orange, CA) in Apr 2022
Interview
The is total two rounds of interview. First HR manager will give you a overall introduction to the company structure, then hand you a exam to finish. Second round of interviews was the formal interview with project manager, general questions about previous experience, future career expectation etc.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VCA Structural (Anaheim, CA)
Interview
Horrible interview process. First had a phone interview and afterwards scheduled a meeting for an in person interview. When I arrived most of the panel couldn’t attend the interview so they had me reschedule. Eventually I was offered the job with the offer in hand, however they then said they made an error and lowered the salary amount agreed upon and the job title changed as well. Very unprofessional and a waste of time.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at VCA Structural in Oct 2018
Interview
The interview process consisted of a Skype Interview between the recruiter and the hiring manager.
The interview questions were pretty good. The recruiter wrote a best-selling book on recruiting quality talent. Based on their conduct during the interview process, it makes anyone wonder whether they know how to design or review buildings or staff their firm.
It is quite amusing listening to them complain how they cannot grow their firm yet refuse to follow up with qualified structural engineering applicants like myself. I believe they do not have the work. Their claims for staffing the other office are met with flying pigs and flaming snowballs. If they did intend on staffing the other office, they would be staffing that office right away.
They have constantly followed up with employees telling me a decision would be made in the future. I felt like a puppet being strung along because it is a matter of weeks. I felt like I was being offered to the lowest bidder. Based on these actions, people should not consider interviewing or even working at this firm.
