I was contacted by a recruiter who found my resume online. I had an initial phone screening with relatively straightforward questions about my work history and how I would describe my strengths.
There were four rounds of interviews. All were conducted through Microsoft Teams. I enjoyed speaking with all interviewers - they gave open and insightful answers to my questions about Vestas and the nature of the role.
During the first interview, the hiring manager was 15 minutes late and could only attend part of the interview. They also never turned their camera on, while the other panelist did.
After this interview, I was sent a large dataset and some analysis questions to answer as a work sample.
The second and fourth interviews were supposed to be panel interviews, but only one person showed up to each. The fourth interviewer also didn't turn their camera on.
After the interview process, I connected multiple times with the recruiter who told me that Vestas was putting an offer together, that I was their top pick, and that they were still going through internal approvals but hopefully, there would be a formal offer very soon.
Over the next four weeks, we kept checking in until the recruiter stopped responding. I left two voicemails asking for an update, and one message letting the recruiter know that I had received an offer from a different company so I was keen to connect for a status update before I accepted. I still have not heard back. After several more days, I had to assume I was misinformed and shouldn't expect to hear back, so I accepted the other offer.
