I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Veterans United Home Loans (Columbia, MO) in Mar 2016
Interview
The interview process took roughly 6-7 weeks. The first interview started out as a "general fit" interview to see if you are a good fit for the company. I received notice after following up three times or so that I would be interviewing with HR person that heads the loan officers. I waited another three or four weeks before I got to interview with him. After interviewing with him for little over and hour, I figured it was a great interview as they were looking for a sales type of person. All of my previous jobs were in sales so the questions he asked me were pretty easy. Found out two weeks later that I did not get it. It took me by surprise but what can you do. I felt like that was one of my best interviews and I have definitely have the skills and experience that they were asking for.

Why do you want to be a loan officer with Veterans United
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Veterans United Home Loans (Lenexa, KS) in Feb 2026
Interview
The process was multiple rounds of virtual interviews followed by an in-office interview - the final one was with the department leader, and he was the final decision maker on the position
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Veterans United Home Loans in Sept 2024
Interview
Interview was simple. A few questions about how I performed in the past. Pretty standard, easy questions. They did not like being challenged though. When I asked about heavy turnover this year and micromanagement, the conversation shifted. Also, the recruiter waited until the very end of the interview to inform me that the job I was interviewing for had a start date in 4 months. I was left with a feeling that this isnjust another inside sales sweat shop. Would not recommend.
