I was contacted by HR via LinkedIn with the suggestion to discuss the job. We had a phone call within a week where I shared my general background and work experience. HR handed over my resume and salary expectation to the hiring manager. My application was declined without any further discussion due to the salary wish exceeding their budget

Interview
Interviewed with a manager who did not even know what I did as an Instructional Designer. They also asked for a spec project as part of the interview even though I had a full portfolio of eLearning modules. The most basic eLearning module takes 11 hours to complete. Anything with interactivity takes 21 hours which they asked for. 21 hours non paid time is very excessive for an interview.
