Interview
Very impressed by overall interview process.
1) Recruiter Interview
2) Hiring Manager Interview - hiring manager tried to find out fit for the position. Asked intelligent questions, focused lot more on leadership and team related activities
3) Department Head Interview - focus on technical and leadership behavior
4) Virtual Panel Interview- this consisted of a 5 rounds
a) system design - provided a case and we discussed how to design a system. Very enjoyable experience, both interviewers were knowledgeable and they made it a very interactive experience
b) product Partnership - goal was to find out how I would work with product. Few scenario based questions from real world, lot of focus on metrics. Interviewer seem to understand this partnership very well
c) Fit for the role - lots of behavioral questions, with both technical and business scenarios
d) technical behavior round - behavior questions technical point of view
e) principal engineer chat - another round of technical behavior questions
Overall they are very thorough in interview process. All interviewers showed interest in my profile and had great questions to know about me and if I would fit into the role. All of them were proud to work for Wayfair and always had a mindset that they are a technology company.
One thing I liked most is, after all interviews, recruiter scheduled time to talk with me to communicate rejection as well as provided feedback.
