I’ve interviewed at Wise twice for two different roles. The recruiter on the first was reading questions out to me without any understanding or ability to elaborate. The second time around, the (different) recruiter was great but the next stage was a take-home task that took me 6–7 hours to do, that nobody bothered to give me any feedback on. After chasing it up, I got a generic “not this time” email. Asking candidates to complete free work before even putting them in front of a hiring manager is bad enough, but at least have the courtesy not to go radio silent on them. If your values include transparency and openness, this should stretch into your recruitment too.
