The process was long and drawn out. What most surprised me was it was essentially being led by the junior team member who would ultimately report to this position. Access to the hiring manager seemed challenging even though this person would be the supervisor of this position. Frankly, while I feel team work and collaboration is necessary for success, I found this approach to be disrespectful to my work and the value I bring. Salaries or expectations around them should not be discussed with a junior team member!
Furthermore, their offices lack an adequate reception area making the initial part in-person part of the process to be incredibly awkward as I waited -- I could either watch the candidate prior to me in the interview or stare at a wall one foot in front of my face while seated on a poof -- not even a real chair.
With all that said, the organization does good work, and I am disappointed I could not share my expertise in this role.
