      Network Engineer Interview

      20 Jun 2013

      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at World Wide Technology

      Interview

Was contacted by an HR person from St. Luis who got my resume from a friend who works at the company. Scheduled an in person interview with the hiring manager, and a follow up interview with 2 other engineers. They asked a few technical questions based on what was on my resume, then asked me to whiteboard a recent network design i worked on. that led to questions about my design decisions and how specific technologies i implemented worked. i got an offer 24 hours later, but declined. the job seemed less interesting than what i was doing at the time. i would have been farmed out as a contractor on a specific contract for a while. the hiring manager was very unprofessional, and asked if i only interviewed to "get more money out of my current employer", he also bad mouthed several people i had worked with in the past we both knew during the interview process. I thanked him for the opportunity and hung up.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at World Wide Technology in Sept 2020

      Interview

After initial phone call with the WWT recruiter who approached me on LinkedIn I had an interview with the lab-manager. Got positive feedback within a few days and a second interview with a network engineer and a project engineer was planned. After the second interview WWT appeared to have vanished; my two reminders by email and one by voice mail to the recruiter were ignored... Only one of the 4 involved people was in time at the appointment.

      Network Engineer Interview

      2 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at World Wide Technology in Jun 2016

      Interview

The process started off with a recruiter reaching out initially to discuss the role and gauged interest. I was then scheduled to interview with two technical people and then the hiring manager over the course of a month. After about the 3rd week, I was finally made an offer - the offer was exactly the same amount that I was making at the time, despite me making it clear how much I'd consider taking. I declined the offer and reiterated my initial conversation regarding compensation and the recruiter said he's follow up with the manager and remit to me. Another week passes and nothing from these people. If this is how you recruit people, I could only imagine what kind of chaotic environment this really is, and had I accepted and was due for a promotion, if the same lackluster effort would come into play. Unimpressive, to say the least.
