A recruiter reached out to me, describing the available position and to schedule a call to discuss it. We did a 15min phone screen the following day, and the recruiter said she would try to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. Five days later, I received a email to schedule that interview, but in-person instead of over the phone. Three days later, I interviewed with the hiring manager and the department head. It lasted about 45mins, and we discussed the role, my interest and salary requirements. They were non-committal on the next step, since it was a new position and they were still working out the details. They assured me I would hear back the following week. I never heard back, until I sent an email to check in a month later, but was told they were not conducting a second round of interviews. No other details were provided, so I assume they were not creating the position afterall.
