I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Yelp (New York, NY) in Oct 2012
Interview
Came across Yelp who were seeking candidates for an inside sales position while job searching on indeed.com. Decided to apply online and send in my resume. I received an e-mail within a few days explaining details about how long the training process would take and what the expected salary would be if accepted for the position. The e-mail also mentioned a phone interview was the first step and there were three time slots between two days and I needed to choose two time slots to be called for the interview. I got the call and answered similar questions to the ones already mentioned in previous comments. "What you know about Yelp?", "Why Yelp?", "Why inside sales?" "What is your biggest accomplishment?" The phone interview lasted 10 minutes. Needless to say, I wasn't prepared for this interview and received a rejection e-mail by human resources after a week.
I applied online. I interviewed at Yelp (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2026
Interview
Interview was smooth. I was given good information about pay, culture, and what is expected of an inside sales representative on typical day. I was also allowed to ask question.
Everyone was super nice and very clearly proud of Yelp culture. The communication was quick and clear on expectations of the interview and onboarding process. Both the recruiter and the hiring managers were very insightful about the business and offered great feedback to my mock call.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They had me run through a mock sales call twice with feedback in between.
It was okay, the salary is quite low and does not match the market for similar roles. I think that the actual interview is not hard, but it is hard to stay motivated knowing the salary number.
