I wouldn't be surprised if the advertised role were a ghost job so that the data team could get a bigger budget. The company asked for a take-home analysis with a presentation without specifics on how long the analysis should take or the presentation. When presenting, I was constantly interrupted with meaningless questions that would not be asked of by shareholders. I was told to skip the analysis part of my presentation to save time( Sounds reasonable, but common sense should be to give an estimated presentation time, especially after I emailed in for clarification.) After being rejected for the role, I was given great contradictory feedback: "The team were impressed by my background and experience", but I was a "little inexperienced" for the "Junior" role?
If the team exploits the employer's market with their take-home assignments, asking for time and effort that could be spent elsewhere, they should at least make an effort with their feedback.
Terrible handling of the interview stages. Disrespectful towards the candidate's time: Don't waste yours with this company.
