I applied online. I interviewed at Zanskar (Salt Lake City, UT) in Mar 2026
Interview
Had an HR screening interview. Then a round with HR manager which went well and they seemed to like the background review I had done on the company (read their substack, difference between what they are doing vs enhanced geothermal systems). Final round was a presentation on my research that they then asked questions about. I thought that was fairly straightforward but then got a standard template rejection email a few days later. Some things to focus on are Bayesian statistics, Uber's H3 grids, MLflow, spatial autocorrelation and similar concepts.

I applied through university. I interviewed at Zanskar (Bengaluru)
Interview
The hiring process began with an online assessment consisting of three DSA questions, one based on greedy, hashing and the other on graphs. This was followed by two interviews: one technical and one HR.

Question 1
1st Round – Technical Interview:
The interviews mainly focused on core computer science subjects, including Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, and Data Structures & Algorithms. Interviewers also examined resumes thoroughly, asking about project details such as the choice of tech stack, implementation decisions, and their pros and cons. Each session lasted around 30–45 minutes.
2nd Round - HR Round
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Zanskar in Jun 2024
Interview
I was really excited about this opportunity but ended up thinking it was a scam after 6 interviews and having to "chase down" the recruiter for basic communication. Very unprofessional hiring process - I had never had this experience with other companies before.
