      Offensive Security Engineer Interview

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zoom Communications (Austin, TX) in Jun 2021

      Interview

I had a great experience interviewing at Zoom. The recruiter I worked with was so nice and friendly, and such an easy person to talk to. Out of all the companies I interviewed, Zoom was the most memorable. Everyone involved was so quick and responsive, they sure know how to make you feel like you are important even as a candidate. Other than the initial meeting with the recruiter, I went through four rounds of interviews, where I spoke with 5 different people. Every round was like a 1x1 session so you really get to know the team. The questions were a mix of technical and cultural. The technical questions were hands-on. It could be like a knowledge test, scenario-based, or code reading. Some cultural questions were interesting, in a good way. One of the questions was if I contribute to any communities around me. Kind of threw me off as an interview question, but it was a good one, and I gained a lot of respect for the leaders at Zoom that day. After each interview, my recruiter wasted no time to bring me news about the feedback. And we repeated this cycle until the final verdict was made.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zoom Communications (Reno, NV) in Feb 2021

      Interview

This was the most streamlined, smooth, and honestly expedient interview process I have ever experienced. Interviews are scheduled by the team sending you a link to pick a few days/times you are available, and then booking you with the party interviewing you at a time when you're both available based on what you selected. I got the scheduling email within the hour of when I was told it would be sent, and interviews were scheduled to occur within the next few days. There was no guessing on "we'll let you know" and wondering if/when that may happen. The recruiters reached out very shortly after interviews concluded. They are open and transparent about feedback from interviewing parties. I cannot stress enough how I was never left wondering if anyone cared about me as a candidate. They're proactive and attentive. It was an outstanding experience!
