I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at charity: water in Nov 2018
Interview
It was a great experience and a fast process.
I had an internal referral from a staff member. The overall structure for the interview was:
Phone Screen - General Background, Culture
Hangout with Engineering Manager - Technical Interview and Engineering Culture Fit
Take-home Project - PR on a Coding Challenge with 1 round of Code Review.
That's far as I made it, but understood the next steps, according to the outline I learned about in the phone screen, would have been a Group Interview with Team Engineers and/or an interview with an Executive Team Member. Then, a background/reference check followed by an offer stage.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Talk about a project you've worked on.
- Talk about working with other people.
It was a long interview process that initially required a day long project take home. Spent a lot of time and energy preparing and working for a month on the interview process all for them to find that they were redesigning the role which stayed open for months.
