I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at i5invest in Nov 2020
Interview
The interview process was quite smooth with only 2 rounds. I applied to the position directly on the website and was later invited for an "Interview Day" (1st round).
The interview day lasted 3 hours:
- 1h to complete a standard M&A case study
- 30mn interview (Fit)
- Short break and then 45mn of case study discussion
The 2nd round is simply a follow-up call with a partner and is I think more a formality / fit interview to confirm that the candidate is a nice person to work with. For me it was a 30mn call.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: Why do you want to work for i5 Invest?
Q: If you had to sell Company X, which type of buyers would you approach?
Overall, the interview questions were basic, meaning no tricky questions or traps.
The application process comprises two rounds in total. It involves an initial "Assessment Day" with an interview and case study, followed by a "Follow-Up Interview". You should make sure that you are available for the whole duration of the time slot (3 hours).
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at i5invest (Vienna) in Dec 2020
Interview
The process is easy and straightforward. It starts with the application on the website (CV + Why you want to join i5), then the HR will invite you for a 3 hours interview divided as follow:
- 90 mins for a business case (M&A sell-side client case, need to prepare one page pitch + valuations with multiples and DCF + Longlist of potential investors)
- 30 mins motivational interview
- 60 mins walk through the case solutions interview
These two interviews were with a Director and an Associate
If the result of this first step is positive you will be invited for a second step interview (motivation and corporate finance questions) with a partner (30 mins).
Everything happened within 2 weeks from application
