      Senior Java Software Engineer Interview

      11 Jul 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Yerevan, Yerevan
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at jambit (Yerevan, Yerevan) in May 2023

      Interview

The first phone call was fine. HR manager was friendly, smiling, gave some introduction to the company, asked about my experience. They booked the technical interview slot in two weeks but then rescheduled a couple of times. More than 1 month passed after the phone call. HR is reluctant to communicate. If you send an email you receive the response after few days or not receiving at all. In my opinion they are not so interested in hiring. The technical interview was awful, long and uncomfortable. They asked to open some visual tool and draw "the system you worked/developed recently". It was unexpected to me and I felt embarrassed. They didn't help me to cope with it. For me it was stressful as I had to remember some technical details on the go. Then there was some simple coding task. The interviewer was a bit sociaphobic, not so interested in the process and not smiling. I wanted it to be over as soon as possible. They chose the wrong person for doing the interviews. HR even gave no feedback at all. The whole impression is negative. I would reject the offer/next steps in any case.

      Question 2

For Spring custom services with the only implementation we can use interface + implementation class or can implement the service in one class. Why do we need interfaces if we have the only implementation?

Dear applicant, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had a negative recruitment experience. We take your feedback very seriously and have already addressed it internally. An efficient qualitative recruitment process is very important for us and we try to get it through as quickly as possible. However, sometimes the process takes longer due to internal issues and last-minute changes in the customer projects. Unfortunately, it was the reason in your case. Regarding the technical interview, we will communicate our expectations up front better. Of course, it is in the nature of an assessment center / a technical interview that the tasks are not known before and have to be solved in short time. A pleasant atmosphere is, of course, also important here. Therefore, please apologize us for feeling uncomfortable in the interview. We wish you all the best for your professional and personal future. Elza, HR Specialist Employer Branding
