I applied online. I interviewed at koplin consulting (Texas City, TX) in Apr 2023
Interview
Hardest job interview I have ever done in my life. I interviewed for this job 3 times. I wanted the position so bad, I wanted to travel, I had 2 years of eating disorder experience, in the process of getting my masters, and I am a single woman so I could work with the one month on, one month off role.
Each interview that I did was highly demanding, consisting of two role plays that put you in a really difficult "hypothetical" client situation.
As someone with a lot of experience, I thought I did decent, however, It felt like my responses weren't good enough. Amanda always had some rebuttal of what I should have said or done, which would have been fair for learning experience for training purposes. An interview shouldn't feel like training session though? I don't know. But..they weren't satisfied.
After the 2nd interview, they asked me to take a 3 hour course (it was free) created by this guy who was a professional who worked for the FBI. Again, I really wanted the job. So I did it. After completing this course on my own time, I did the 3rd interview with another EXTENSIVE role play scenario. I didn't get the job and they stated "We need someone with more experience with families."
Nowhere in the job description was there a requirement for family therapy/support. It was an individual eating disorder coach position. They also didn't require any licensure for it, which felt like a red flag for how demanding the requirements were.
They then proceeded to offer me classes that I had to pay for that would "enhance my skills to get the position"...very scammy and I was so put off.
I overall wasted over 6 hours trying to interview for this job. That's a whole work shift. lol. guess the jokes on me
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Role Play: They put me in a scenario where I enter a home and there is an angry teenager in her room refusing to come out to meet me...parents are hysterical and she won't come out no matter what. Says she wants to be skinny for her Tik Tok followers, denies need for ED treatment.
