The interview process was okay. I applied via email and received a call to schedule an interview. During the interview, I felt that they were really cold in their overall approach. They have some really strict rules according to my liking-like if work starts at 7.45 you need to be there by 7.30 to make yourself a coffee and exactly at 7.45 you need to get set go. The lunch breaks are fixed so no flexibility around that (if you feel hungry earlier or later) which I think is absolutely ridiculous. Phones are not allowed during the whole time of work. So, if there is an emergency you need to use a studio phone. They mentioned that they are super particular about their hiring process which basically means they basically need a cog in the wheel. They also asked if you have any experience in cleaning. They expect all their employees to clean each Friday for an hour or so. (I mean it’s okay for someone who is comfortable with that being a part of their job scope.) Personally, I don’t mind cleaning but the other aspects and requirements made it way too much. I felt I was being asked to bend over backwards if I needed this job. Overall, I guess it’s good for someone who is able to thrive in such strict and rigid workplace environments with no flexibility whatsoever. To me, it sounded like a toxic culture.
