The interview experience was unprofessional and unnecessarily dismissive.
Instead of focusing on assessing my practical knowledge, problem-solving skills, or real-world experience, the interviewer chose to ask about highly specific and uncommon details that don’t reflect actual day-to-day responsibilities. When I suggested a reasonable solution based on real-life implementation, it was rejected in a condescending manner.
I tried to engage logically and respectfully, but the tone of the interviewer was arrogant and unwelcoming, treating the conversation more like a quiz show than a collaborative technical discussion. There was no interest in hearing different approaches or in evaluating how I think — just a rigid expectation that I memorize certain things word for word.
This kind of gatekeeping doesn’t reflect a healthy engineering culture. I wouldn’t recommend interviewing here if you’re looking for a place that values respect, flexibility, and real-world skills.
