Simplicity Manufacturing is heavy into the great outdoors. The company makes lawn tractors, riding and walk-behind mowers, snow throwers, leaf blowers, and other lawn and garden equipment designed for residential and commercial use. Its products are sold globally through more than 9,000 dealers and distributors. Founded in 1922 by William J. Niederkorn, the company (formerly owned by Kohlberg & Co. and its employees) was sold to outdoor power equipment manufacturer Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group in July 2004 and became part of its parent company's yard power products group.
