Pros

Nice coworkers and store leaders. Good coffee.

Cons

I am going to caution you: do not work here. Even if you are desperate. It will try you in ways you can’t even imagine…this company is run by what I can only imagine is 3 kids stacked on top of each other in a trench coat. No one with half a brain could create such a toxic, unpleasant environment and hierarchy. Those who work in the office are clearly exploiting the employees’ lack of knowledge of workers rights. No one seems to be qualified for what they are doing, except for the baristas who are asked to also perform ridiculous tasks daily. It’s not the specialty coffee environment that they will try to sell to you, it is a corporate numbers machine. They will be unclear, uncommunicative, demanding-at-random, and they will lie to you. Plus, every coworker you grow to like will quit within weeks, because they hate in there too. Just don’t even bother.

Pros

Free coffee, friendly fellow baristas and customers

Cons

The corporate office opened more stores than they can support, and make increasingly greedy decisions based on that. They expect baristas to take many photos for social media, sell a large amount of the (extremely overpriced) specialty espresso, push coffee bags, and beg customers for positive reviews. Sales are seen as the sole responsibility of the individual barista, and they encourage you to use manipulative phrasing and not reveal the price. If you don’t reach the impossible sales goals, which no one ever does, they eventually start threatening you with write ups and act increasingly rude. They have high employee turnover because no employee ever reaches their impossible sales goals, and then gets bullied for it. Also, the prices are shockingly high to being paying employees minimum wage.

Pros

You get to work alone (if you prefer to work alone this is a pro), you get to control the music in the store, some room for creativity (decorating the store for example), customers are great for the most part and tip well

Cons

There is ZERO communication between upper management and baristas. Literally ZERO. You are demanded by management to constantly respond to messages and do tasks randomly that are asked of you through WhatsApp, but if YOU ask a question or have a concern or suggestion, you will be completely ignored. The shop leaders are grossly underpaid and overworked. Everyone who works in the office constantly makes VERY VERY POOR DECISIONS that both the customers and baristas hate. So much horrific decision making has destroyed this company that had potential. They preach support local, yet raise their prices (BEYOND UNAFFORDABLE) every few weeks without even notifying the shop leaders or baristas. They recently just demoted all of their shop leaders because they can't afford to pay them. Instead of making better decisions, they will take their hardest working employees and exploit them. Baristas are contantly asked to cover shifts at different locations last minute left and right because the turnover rate is so high. Lots of baristas have worked doubles without being given breaks which I'm pretty sure is illegal. There is no appreaciation for the hard work of the baristas and shop leaders who are the backbone of the company. Also you will be paid BELOW minimum wage when you start, and your training will be unpaid. THERE IS NO STRUCTURE SO WHEN YOU START YOU BETTER HOPE TO HAVE A GOOD SHOP LEADER WHO HELPS YOU BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN GIVE YOU A RECIPE GUIDE TO MEMORIZE HOW TO MAKE THEIR DRINKS. You better hope to have previous barista experience or you will be absolutely lost. This company focuses on expanding without having a proper business model, it's pretty crazy stuff. They only care about their appearance on social media
