      Some cons for everyone to know

      Good place if you know how to market yourself rather than software development

      Cons

      For clients going to hire 99x as a Software House - - Get ready to drag the product development forever because that's how their pricing model works. - More time to finish the project = More profit to 99x - Get ready have thousands of processes - If 8 hours working day, 4 hours for following processes & 4 hours actual development For someone going to join 99x - - Check probation period, resignation period, salary after EPF deduct - 99x resignation period is one of the longest in Sri Lanka - And they will threaten you not to give service letter if you resign earlier (Probably someone will sue 99x for this practice) - You need to log time with description you did each & every day in most of the projects - You can take leaves, but you need to make sure you cover minimum annual hours log to your client for billing, otherwise good luck with your next year increment - Compare the salary you are getting with other companies - Ask for the highest salary for the starting salary, because you will not get a lot as increments - Doesn't matter how good you are at your work, always your promotions, increments highly depend on initiative work you do

We would however like to point out that several points that you have listed, in relation to logging time, leaves, following processes, resignation notice etc., are standard practices across the industry. You are correct in saying that 99x values individuals who are self-responsible, take on initiatives, and contribute to the organisation. We do place importance on contributing to areas outside your core job role as we have seen that it builds up our employees' personality and develops leadership qualities in addition to technical knowledge. Such attributes are required to progress at 99x. But we understand that this way of working is not for everyone.       Office building is not that good. Low salary.

      99x is losing its value

      Pros

      As of for now the pros are barely handful! Work life balance and healthy work culture was the only good thing 99x had. It’s been demolished by the management decisions which are not employee friendly. Work hours change and Company benefiting from employee tax without giving the full benefit to employees through port city transition.

      Cons

      Salaries and increments are very low! Company is headed on a micromanagement structure with work hours change. Majority of the decisions are not people centric. They are losing very good talent due to poor salary management. Company was over grown and they can’t handle the employees and their salaries. There were so many cost cuttings; no year end bonus, low increments, no annual trips. Also raising these on company mediums were useless as they tend to ignore these true facts from being surfaced. 99x culture is completely lost! Do not expect that if you are joining in if they hire anymore.
