Pros

Hours and good jumping point for IT career

pay/hours/management/work & life balance. Company burns and churns employees and doesnt actually care about the individual.

Pros

You will learn a lot here. Unfortunately, much of it is not best practice. You will have to shake off some bad habits when you leave here, especially if you find yourself in the Government Contracting world.

Cons

Pay, management, stress, hours, benefits or lack of. You are in this job only for experience. API is a revolving door and everyone is expendable. In my nearly 6 years of employment there I saw one raise. This was when I moved from the call center to engineering. I was moved to a meager salary and later did the math. If you broke my salary down to the hours that I worked I made less than 1.75 an hour. The engineering side of the house is 24/7 365. You could get called any moment. We would work maintenance at a telephone company at 3am, and then get a call at 8am wondering why you weren't in the office. I would spend Holidays and children's birthdays sitting at the dining room table working. There was no separation between work life and home life. If you have a family, this job will put a tremendous strain on your family life. When I left I was on the verge of a divorce because of the stress and hours invested into API. I drank the kool-aid. I thought we were building something special and I wanted to be a part of it. API has now been purchased by Neo Nova and I've heard that it is even worse now. I didn't think that could be possible.

Pros

Because of the awful internal setup for training and the lack of leadership you do learn a lot within a short period of time that allows you to take it with you to your next job

Cons

The pay is awful for what they ask you to do Favoritism over logic and fairness when redoing schedules every few months. Your schedule can change at any time and you have no say Management is a joke and the worst management I've ever experienced Constantly asked to work overtime or request you work through lunch If promoted you essentially keep the same job as before and add on your new jobs for the new position The CEO is a feat boy that whines and becomes petty if someone disagrees with him. Will fire easily Turn over rate is way too high, most people quit within a few months and see employees as disposable because they can always hire someone else to take their place Their training is pretty useless The entire company is so disorganized and leaves their employees to the sharks while they do nothing other than criticize and get mad over the customers getting mad because the company doesn't have their sh*t together. Expected their longtime employees to go down with the company when things got bad Any job at API is not worth the money they offer and you will be overworked with no help.
