Pros

You can make good money in staffing, but they charge an arm and a leg in burden. Good amount of vacation.

Cons

Management gives false hope. They treat valued members terribly and then expect them to apologize. Very bad decision making-starts at the top.

When considering a career at AVID, we strongly encourage individuals to ask any questions that they might have with regard to this review. We are extremely open and honest and will elaborate further about this posting upon request. At AVID, what we ask is that each employee works hard, communicates honestly and be a team player. Ultimately, our employees are everything to us and we realize that our growth and success is dependent upon the combined effort of our team. This culture is one of main drivers that has helped fuel our impressive national expansion - adding six new offices across the country in the last four years with two more scheduled to open by the end of 2016. This growth in turn has produced countless promotions and career opportunities. There is no doubt that this company and industry is not right for everyone. However, for those who work hard and believe in open/honest communication, we’re confident that we provide a tremendous opportunity.

Pros

Free coffee Work with young kids out of college

Cons

They look for athletes coming out of college because of the nature of the beast. You are under paid until you have a decent book of business Bonus do not happen Management chooses who they like and rewards those based off personal preference Very poor training with very little visibility from management

Unfortunately, this is not the right company….and often industry….for everyone. Ultimately, we demand our employee’s work hard and be willing to help others in an effort to ultimately help cultivate a strong team environment. We require open and honest communication. That said, we are guilty of all of the above. We do our best day-in and day-out to make this an amazing place to work. As we continue to expand nationally, we will periodically need to make adjustments as we are always looking for ways to improve. This growth creates opportunity for movement into local and national management as well as the ability to voice your concerns. And yes, we do offer free coffee.

Pros

Good place to work when you first get out of college, you work with nice people and it teaches you a lot about hard work, diligence, and really sets you up for a career past staffing and recruiting.

Cons

There isn't any opportunity for a career growth. This is true not only at Avid TR but throughout the staffing and recruiting industry. People who are young in their career like to see advancement and career opportunity, and there isn't much opportunity if any to grow here. There are long hours, they can pay off because you have uncapped commission, but there is slim to none in regards to working from home, vacation time, any sort of flexibility. The benefits here are terrible, no 401K match, you pay a ton and a half for health insurance, no cell phone reimbursement, 10 vacation days. You can find MUCH better benefits elsewhere. HUGE turnover at the company between offices being shut down, valuable people being fired, and people quitting on their own. There is a huge turnover in general in the industry but this was surprising.

We appreciate hearing feedback from our employees and former employees. Ultimately, we do pride ourselves with not only being a great place to work straight out of college, but for those with industry experience or changing careers. This review is accurate in that we’ve built a team of people that is pleasant and fun to work with, while helping set them up for a successful career. We’re always open to constructive criticism, however some of the cons referenced are just not accurate. For example, we do provide flex hours and remote work. While we do give 10 days of vacation PTO, we also allow 10 days of sick time off, thus providing our employees a month of PTO a year. We feel this is actually quite generous and above industry norm. We’ve also changed our healthcare plan in the past year to be less costly. As for our 401k plan, unfortunately we do not offer a match for the sole reason that we extend our retirement plan to all of our external consultants. No company is perfect and we’re certainly always looking to improve. However, when it comes to transparency, we respectfully disagree with this review. AVID management works hard to keep an open, respectful dialogue with employees. We try to share information as it becomes available and we constantly ask for feedback and ideas for improvement. We pride ourselves in our transparency and go out of our way to communicate. We want our employees to know they are the most valuable aspect of this company. This has always been a priority for AVID management and it always will be. We’re sorry things didn’t work out for you here and we certainly wish you the best in your future endeavors.
