      Good First Job, But Limited Growth and Non-IT Tasks

      Pros

      Aequilibrium is a great place for your first job in Canada, offering valuable experience to build your resume. The team is fantastic—most of the people I supported were software developers, so they were knowledgeable about their computers. My colleagues were generally easy to work with, and I enjoyed the Mac-based technology stack. Overall, I had a positive experience working there.

      Cons

      There was no real business need for an IT team, and as the sole IT Support Specialist, there was no opportunity for career growth. My salary remained unchanged for the last two to three years. By the time I left Aequilibrium, I felt that I had stayed longer than I should have.

As we transitioned to a fully remote company with many technically self-sufficient developers, our IT needs have become more limited. Over time, we realized the role was evolving into more of a part-time operational need rather than a long-term IT team structure. We understand how that could limit career growth in that position. We appreciate the contributions you made during your time with us and wish you continued success in your next chapter.
