Pros

CEO cares about his employees. Environment is modern, clean and respectable. Encourages creativity. Employees are very smart and friendly. Encourages company events and a relaxed environment.

Cons

Work life balance in a start up is not really a thing. They expect you to work overtime to show your commitment. Some of the higher ups do not have an interest in your personal well being and are rather mechanical in their approach to human welfare.

Pros

People here are great and very easy to get along with. The environment is casual and it's always challenging. This is probably the best environment I've been in, which is surprising given the number of people here. However, this isn't the right environment for someone who wants a work-life balance. If you get bored after a couple of days of vacation, then this is the environment for you. If work is only work and you need family or personal time, you probably won't stay here long. It's very flat in structure, so most people report to the COO, who reports to the CEO. This is both a Pro and Con. Pro for the obvious reasons, but a con because you can't really move up. The pay is quite high compared to other companies in town, but since you work a lot more than a typical company, this breaks even. There's a lot of work to do, but if you do what you're tasked to do and you do it by the time they want, it doesn't seem like they care how/when you do it. If you fall behind, expect to put in the extra hours to get it done.

Cons

Benefits come with fine print. Unlimited time off isn't true. If you take 3 weeks off and don't put in a lot of hours a week, they threaten to fire you. Once you reach a certain number of days "off" per year (it doesn't matter if you worked from home because they call you on your day off), they won't approve more days off. So that's not unlimited time off. That's a set time off, but without accrual of PTO, so once you leave, you don't get paid for time you don't use up.
